The Czech Republic will request the extradition of an American citizen suspected of killing a family of four in the city of Brno, the Czech Justice Ministry said Friday.

American Kevin Dahlgren was arrested at Dulles Airport in Washington, the Czech ministry said. The arrest was made based on an international warrant.

The suspect has been charged in absentia and is now subject to extradition proceedings. Regional Czech police spokesperson Petra Vedrová earlier called the killings “extremely brutal in its nature.”
