Explosions at the airport and a metro station in Brussels, Belgium, killed dozens on Tuesday, and the tragedy has reverberated around the world . The Impact Your World team has gathered ways you can support and remember the victims.

Donations

GoFundMe established a campaign to raise $100,000 and contributed $25,000 and all transaction fees to the fund. Its website states that “once an official charity for the victims has been established, we will transfer all funds there.”

The Belgian Red Cross is asking for blood donations in Brussels. The most needed blood types are O negative and A negative. The Red Cross is also accepting monetary donations, which will go toward victim assistance and equipment.

YouCaring created a fund to help survivors, witnesses, and victims’ loved ones receive immediate and long-term emotional support. The money raised goes towards the Survivors Assistance Network, which provides the services.

Providing shelter and transportation

Several hashtags are trending on social media for people who are stranded in Brussels and need a place to stay or transportation. Anyone in Brussels who would like to help should use the hashtags #ikwilhelpen, #BrusselsWelcome, #OpenHouse and #PorteOuverte, so people who need assistance can reach out to them.

Checking on loved ones

If you have loved ones in Brussels, there are several ways you can check to make sure they are safe.

The Belgian Red Cross set up a website that allows people to search for family and friends in Brussels and also for those in Brussels to check in if they’re OK.

The Belgian Crisis Center established a phone number that people outside of Belgium may call for information: +3278151771.

Facebook activated its safety check feature, which allows people in Brussels to check in on the social media website and let people know they are alive and well.
