Sam Fossum is a video producer covering the White House for CNN in Washington, DC.

Fossum first joined CNN in 2018 as a News Associate-Researcher helping with the network’s coverage of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the 2016 election. Fossum was part of the CNN team that won an Emmy and White House Correspondents Association’s Merriman Smith Award for their dogged reporting that broke the secret indictment of Roger Stone.

Prior to moving over to the White House beat in 2022, Fossum worked on the Assignment Desk in the Washington bureau where he covered Capitol Hill, the White House and breaking news.

Fossum was first introduced to journalism at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, which he graduated from in 2018.
