Hostage families and their supporters are calling for Israel to accept the cease fire proposal in Gaza, after Hamas said it accepted the deal proposed by mediators. Crowds gathered outside Israeli security headquarters in Tel Aviv today, while protesters held signs and chanted at a square in Jerusalem. Palestinians celebrated in central Gaza. Hamas agreed to a different proposal than the one Israel helped craft with Egypt more than a week ago, according to a senior Israeli and senior U.S. official. The senior American officials said the latest proposal calls for an end to the war, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will not accept. Israel's prime minister's office says it will send a delegation to meet with mediators in order to determine whether they can forge a deal. But Israel also says it still plans to conduct its military operation in Rafah, where it called on civilians to leave.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a rare, particularly dangerous situation tornado watch for south central Kansas and central Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City. It's a special kind of tornado watch, issued only when there is unusually high confidence in the potential of multiple long lived and strong tornadoes in an area. CNN meteorologist Chad Myers has more.

Ifeoma, a dangerous day kind of shaping up here and nighttime as well. These tornadoes we're talking about will continue into the overnight hours all the way through dark. Some big time tornadoes possible today, EF2 and greater all the way from Nebraska down even into parts of Texas. So this is a big day today, a high risk day. They happen only 1 or 2 times per year, but today is one of them. If you live in the Plains, make sure you have a way to get your warnings and a safe place to go. Make sure you have a plan before you need one.

The watch is in effect until 11 p.m. central time tonight. So U.S. officials say an American soldier was detained in Russia last week on suspicion of theft. They say he's stationed in South Korea and traveled there on his own volition. He is currently being held in pretrial detention. A U.S. official identified the soldier as Gordon Black. Here's CNN's Natasha Bertrand.

Now, obviously, this is a very, very sensitive moment for U.S.. Russia relations, particularly when it comes to those hostage negotiations. There are several hostages that the U.S. has deemed wrongfully detained Americans being held in Russia currently, of course, including Evan Gershkovich and Paul Wheland. Of course, this is not welcome news for anyone here in the U.S. who have been trying so hard as is to try to get the Americans who are already in the Russian prison system back home.

A U.S. Army spokesperson said in a statement that the Army has notified the soldier's family and that the State Department is providing, quote, "appropriate consular support.".

An employee in the Trump Organization's accounting department took the stand and Donald Trump's criminal hush money trial. Deborah Tarasoff testified for over an hour today about the check writing process at the company. She helped arrange the checks the former president signed and sent to his former attorney, Michael Cohen, as reimbursement for the $130,000 hush money payment to Stormy Daniels. Tarasoff testified that after 2015, any invoice over ten grand had to be approved by Trump or one of his sons. Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and a scheme to keep his alleged mistress quiet about an alleged affair before the 2016 election.

Coming up, Boeing's historic NASA mission tonight.

If all goes well, Boeing's new Starliner spacecraft could send to NASA astronauts into orbit tonight. The company has been working on developing a spacecraft for a decade, facing test flight problems and other costly setbacks. Veteran NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore will be on board tonight's mission, riding Starliner to the International Space Station for a weeklong stay. The launch could be a triumph for Boeing, which has been in the hot seat for numerous issues in its commercial airplane division. Just this afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration announced it's investigating whether Boeing employees failed to perform some quality inspections on its 787 jets. In an internal memo shared with CNN, the Boeing executive overseeing the 787 program wrote that this is not, quote, "an immediate safety of flight issue."
